As you may remember, we recently went on a family vacation to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. This was a much different Disney vacation for us, but we loved every minute of it!
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is located on Florida’s East Coast– about 2 hours southeast of Walt Disney World. While the hustle and bustle of a Walt Disney World vacation is what we are more used to, the slow paced relaxing vacation was welcomed!
Upon entering the resort, you are welcomed by a grand lobby with a beachy decor. This beachy decor carrries itself throughout the resort. The resort opened on October 1st, 1995 and saw a partial renovation in 2002. We opted to stay in the main building, referred to as the Inn, and we had an amazing oceanview. I made sure to take the time to enjoy it every day. Our room was very nicely decorated and rather roomy! We had a small kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. It was complete with cups, mugs, plates, bowls, and plastic silverware. Other accomodations offered are Inn Garden View Rooms, studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom villas. The 3 bedroom villas are free-standing and offer full kitchens and laundry.
We started each day with a trip to the beach. The shoreline is a bit narrow, but there is still plenty of room to relax and play! Disney’s Vero Beach is a private beach, which kept the crowd level very low. There are umbrellas, loungers, and more available for daily rentals. The beach was very clean and we enjoyed a daily walk searching for shells!
After our time on the beach, we rinsed off the sand and enjoyed the fabulous pool at the resort. It is a rather large pool with a fantastic cork screw slide! My 5 year old daughter enjoyed this slide over and over (and over!)–and perhaps my husband and I enjoyed it a time or two, too! There are lifeguards on duty and the pool remains open until 11pm. We enjoyed a nightly swim one evening we were there and found it to be a bit cool–so the hot tub was a welcomed site for us!
One of the many wonderful things about Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is that it’s not only about the beach and pool! When you check in, you are provided with an activites schedule for the dates you are there. There were craft activities, such as decorating a beach hat, making a Mickey plate, ceramic magnet painting, and more! They also offer dance parties, trivia games, and bonfires complete with smores. There is also an arcade, 9 hole putt putt course, and a full service Spa that even offers items for children!
The dining options at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort were, of course, fantastic, as well! Disney’s Vero Beach Resort offers Shutters, Sonya’s, Bleacher’s, and the Green Cabin Room. There was a wide assortment of choices from each restaurant–which was nice when we wanted something simple by the pool or wanted to doll ourselves up a bit for a nice dinner! Shutter’s offers special occassion meals–such as the All you Can eat Seafood Buffet on Thursdays, Special Pirate Meal on Mondays, and Character meal with Goofy and Donald on Saturday’s! We enjoyed a couple of these special meals and same day reservations were not an issue–although, advanced reservations can be made!
Overall, we were absolutely thrilled with our Disney’s Vero Beach vacation. It is definitely a spot that we will want to visit again and I highly recommend it to any of you looking for a beautiful beach spot to visit! For more pictures, check out this album!
